One Problem

The fact that you can hold down space bar the whole time is a problem... make it so that he can only jump once per space bar press.

yeah... well... holding the space bar doesn't do anything (in theory) you have to mash it up and down.

Yeah, I changed the way I recorded the sounds half way through and it turned out that sticking a jack from my mic to my speaker and recording the sound straight from the video was faster and sounded better than downloading the youtube video then extracting the sound.

I'll sort it now.

sorry this is way too complicating, its average.. and you didnt think simple enough.. the key to any brilliant thing is taking something really complicating code, story, or work and making it simple to use.

you should try animations

this was pretty cool, nice action scripting too, the jump was had a small glitch, but jumping is one of the hardest action scripts. I love sprites, make some animations the more time you spend on flash the better you get, and I know when designing a game, you tend to get a little ticked off at the time. When you have a animation in your game such as in between scenes, it gives your flash more of a story. I always wanted to do that, but I never really got into animation until 3 days ago, and animating is totally different than action scripting... Keep up the great work. I hope to see more from you... those are just my opinions though, you do what feels right.

also when making a game, make it longer

OH AND I LIKED THE SCARF ACTION SCRIPT THAT WAS COOL

Cool, I definitely see where you're coming from. Though I wonder what's the jump glitch you're refering to... I do know that on Linux systems if you hold the jump button down it occassionally makes you keep doing tiny jumps, but I'm unaware of other problems.

In terms of animation, I'm currently spending a lot of my time fleshing out 3D works in Maya, and haven't really developed too much interest in traditional 2D stuff. I want to explore more procedural animation in flash at the moment, rather than drawn work.

The length the length is what I'm most disappointed with really, unfortunately it wasn't any particular decision of my own, but rather a deadline that caused it.

Anyway, thanks for the comment, its quite helpful. :D
